DEVON ADAMS

An Albuquerque native, Devon Adams received classical ballet training from the ages of 8 to 18, performing soloist and lead roles as an apprentice with Ballet Repertory Theatre of New Mexico. While earning her BFA in Dance Performance at Southern Methodist University, she pursued a wide variety of contemporary and classical movement, and performed in works such as Donald McKayle's "Songs of the Disinherited" and Paul Taylor's "Cloven Kingdom." While at SMU, she was a frequent contributor to the Meadows School of the Arts Division of Dance student choreographic discourse. She then continued her professional career in New York City, joining the Angelo Dance Project in early 2010. Upon her return to Albuquerque, Devon rejoined BRT for their 2010/2011 season as the White Queen in Alex Ossadnik's Alice in Wonderland, and performed several other roles throughout the year. She also joined Sparrow Dance Productions in the spring of 2011, and is very grateful for the opportunities these two wonderful companies are giving her to feed her passion for dance this season.
