DEREK
DEVELDER
Derek DeVelder comes
to Ballet Repertory Theatre from the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra &
Chorus where he held the position of Donor Development and Marketing Officer.
Prior to his work in Santa Fe, Derek was chosen to be a Fellow in the
Arts Management Program of the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing
Arts-an international program in which ten arts managers are selected
to train with President Michael Kaiser and senior staff of the Kennedy
Center. As a Fellow, Derek worked in requested departments and assisted
as a mentor for Arts in Crisis: A Kennedy Center Initiative which provides
emergency planning assistance for arts organizations. He has served as
a member of the Board of Directors for the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra
as a musician representative and is a double bass player with both the
New Mexico Symphony Orchestra and the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra &
Chorus. Derek received his Master of Music degree from Peabody Conservatory
of Johns Hopkins University, Post Baccalaureate studies from the Academy
of Music in Vienna, Austria, a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Composition
from Arizona State University, and has served as faculty with the MasterWorks
Performing Arts Festival.
